Favourite previous student work

 I
I really like Emily title sequence (from previous as student) because it starts with a close shot of the station then enlarges to a wide shot to show the location. This is good its already including the audience because it lets the audience know where they are.   Then we move on to the unexpected where we see a female hand turning on the vintage record player. The classical music contradicts with area. This is good start because it rises question to the audience about the character. Also, the close up shots on the well laid out objects and the perfume labeled as poison  gives the audience some sort of clue there something unusual about the character. I like how they did a extreme close up on the make up draw because as soon as a viewer see's the weapon they gasp - this a really nice touch ,as it fully grabs  viewer attention and makes audience wanting to know more about mysterious character. The great thing about this title sequence is that, they really know how to engage with the audience emotions.
The only disadvantage is that , the title of the film comes at the end and its original.

This is Grey Area, a title sequence from last year media class. I like their title sequence because it starts really tense, which grabs the audiences attention straight away and makes the viewer curious. Also, I like the fact that the title makes the audience even more carious because the colour grey is an emotionless colour ,often associate with loss or depression. Which gives the audience the idea that its crime film. The audience also gets that its a crime genre because the background music its the police car. Additionally, I like the effect that done to the main title of the film, where the colors fades from black to grey. It was a good touch. The shaking camera gets really intense at some point, despite it made it quite hard to see what's happening. However, I'm guessing its a way of engaging with the audience letting them guess what's happening. The advantage of this title sequence is that, they tried to make it realistic. The guns look real.  It seems like a real life story because this is what is currently happening in derelict areas in London. In my opinion, if they were to improve this it will be on the shots, the setting and location.
