Blogging task 3

Mohamud's Title Sequence/Blog Analysis

This is EMILY, a title sequence made by last years AS group. I chose to analyse this as it is intriguing and original as it misleads you in the beginning by giving basic connotations of a romantic genre. This is shown in the classical music, the make up and the bright city like settings. However, as the opening drags on you see that there are some unusual thing that are well out of the ordinary for the conventions of a romantic genre to put on such as labels that say 'poison' and drawers that say 'weapons.' This keeps the viewer tense and as the music gets deeper and deeper as well as when we see a close up of the dashboard with targets and X's on faces with profane language written next to them we can slowly understand that the context of this movie is about a bounty hunter who is 'crossing of bullies'. The use of juxtaposition is used into full effect and the directors done this by using a wide range of camera angles efficiently and a great use of editing with non diegetic sounds. This is why this thriller title sequence is looks professional and cinema like.

This is group 28 from set 6's blog. I found this blog appealing as it was organised and well constructed which made it easier for me to navigate and find pieces of work that were relevant to me. Furthermore, the background and the blogs colorway already sets up connotations of the title sequences genre as the picture of the graffiti sets up an urban tone and the females face posture poses mystery, crime and thriller.
Finally, the blog also uses a wide range of ICT formats such as emaze and prezi to upload content and keep the blog easy to navigate without scrolling aswell make the blog look more professional.
